Meet Brad Nieman

I have spent my career serving this community. I understand municipal government, infrastructure, budgeting, and the challenges facing residents.

As Mayor, I will listen, lead responsibly, and work every day to build a stronger, more affordable, and more prosperous Prince Edward County.

Prince Edward County is a remarkable place to live, work, raise a family, and retire. As your Mayor, I will provide practical leadership focused on responsible growth, strong financial management, transparent decision-making, and protecting the unique character of our communities.

Let me Introduce to you who I am

I am a lifelong resident of Prince Edward County, proud father of four children and grandfather of twelve grandchildren. The County has always been my home, and I have dedicated my career to serving our communities.

I bring more than 30 years of municipal government experience, including:

  • 20 years as a Water and Wastewater Operator with Prince Edward County

  • 11 years as Underground Infrastructure Supervisor with Loyalist Township

  • Three terms serving on Prince Edward County Council as Councillor for Bloomfield-Hallowell

  • Throughout my time on Council, I have served on numerous committees and working groups, including:

  • Prince Edward-Lennox and Addington Social Services

  • Audit Committee

  • Affordable Housing Corporation

  • Economic Development initiatives

  • Highway 49 Working Group

  • Primary Care Infrastructure Working Group

  • Volunteer Firefighter Negotiations Committee

I am a graduate of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) Municipal Administration Program and hold certifications in Municipal Government Administration, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, Negotiation, and Managing and Leading in a Municipal Environment.

My experience in municipal operations, infrastructure, governance, and public service gives me the knowledge necessary to lead Prince Edward County through the challenges and opportunities ahead.
